You're Never Alone

At Guest House Audio, there's no mystery, no confusion, and no wondering what happens next. From our first conversation to your final delivery, every step is designed to make you feel informed, involved, and genuinely cared for.

Here's exactly how we'll work together to bring your music to life.

Day 1

You Reach Out

First Contact

It all starts when you fill out the contact form or email me directly at [email protected]. Tell me about your project - what you're working on, what you're hoping to achieve, and any questions you have.

What Happens Next

Within 4 hours (during business days), you'll hear back from me personally. Not an automated response, not an assistant - me. I'll suggest a time for your Welcome Call, or if you're booking The Studio Room, we'll discuss your project details and next steps.

What You'll Receive

  • Personal response within 4 hours
  • Welcome email with what to expect
  • Calendar link to schedule your Welcome Call (Master Suite/Whole House)
  • Initial questions to help you prepare
Within 2-3 Days

The Welcome Call

2
Available for: The Master Suite, The Whole House (optional for Studio Room)
We Connect & Explore Your Vision

This is where the real work begins - not with faders and plugins, but with understanding. The Welcome Call is a 20-minute conversation (longer for Whole House projects) where we dive into your music.

Why This Matters

Most engineers skip this step and just start mixing. But I can't serve your vision if I don't understand it first. This conversation is the foundation for everything that follows.

Your Story

How did this song/project come to be? What does it mean to you? What are you hoping listeners will feel?

Your Vision

What are you hearing in your head? If you could describe the perfect mix in emotions rather than technical terms, how would it feel?

Your References

You'll share 3 reference tracks that capture the sonic direction you're after. Not to copy them, but to understand what speaks to you.

Your Concerns

Have you worked with mixing engineers before? What went well? What didn't? Any specific worries about this project?

Technical Details

We'll cover practical stuff too - format, deadlines, any particular challenges in your recordings.

After The Call

You'll receive a Welcome Call Summary documenting what we discussed, your reference tracks, and key points to guide the mix.

3
Your Timeline

File Preparation & Upload

Your Tracks Come Home

After our Welcome Call (or after initial contact for Studio Room), you'll receive The Welcome Package - a comprehensive guide to preparing and uploading your files.

File Preparation Guide

Clear, jargon-free instructions on how to export your tracks properly. Includes video walkthrough.

Pre-Upload Checklist

Proper file format, correct sample rate, organized track naming, notes about specific takes.

Secure Upload Portal

A private, secure link to upload your files. No file size limits, no hassle.

Project Brief Template

BPM, key, timing notes, specific concerns, or things you love about your recordings.

Don't Stress

If something's not quite right with your files, I'll let you know immediately and we'll figure it out together. No judgment, no frustration - just problem-solving.

What Happens After Upload

Within 24 hours, I'll confirm receipt and let you know if anything needs adjustment. Then I'll give you an exact start date and delivery timeline.

2-4 Days (depending on tier)

The Mix Session

4
I Bring Your Vision to Life

This is where your raw tracks transform into the mix you've been imagining. But it's not a black box - you're part of the journey.

What Happens During The Mix

Deep Listening First

Before touching any controls, I listen through your entire track multiple times. I'm listening for the emotional core, the key moments, what wants to be featured, and what's getting in the way.

The Mix Notes Document

As I work, I'm documenting key decisions. Why did I boost those frequencies on the vocal? What was I solving with that compression? These notes will come with your mix delivery.

Reference Checking

I regularly check my work against your reference tracks - not to copy them, but to ensure I'm heading in the right sonic direction you described.

Multiple Listening Environments

I check the mix on studio monitors, headphones, laptop speakers, and even in my car. Your mix needs to work everywhere your listeners will hear it.

Mid-Mix Check-In (Optional)

For Master Suite and Whole House projects, I can send you a rough mix midway through so you can hear the direction and share early thoughts. This prevents surprises and keeps us aligned.

My Approach

Every move I make - EQ, compression, reverb, automation - serves the emotional intent we discussed in The Welcome Call. Technical excellence in service of feeling.

A simple template for sharing your thoughts that helps me understand exactly what you're hearing and what needs adjustment.

Your Schedule + 24-48 hrs per revision

Your Feedback & Revisions

6
Refinement & Collaboration

Now it's your turn to respond. And here's the important part: I want you to be honest. If something's not working, tell me. If you're not sure how to articulate it, we'll figure it out together.

How to Give Feedback

Be Specific

Instead of "the vocal sounds weird," try "at 1:35, the vocal feels too far away" or "the vocal feels harsh in the chorus."

Use Emotion First, Technical Second

"The chorus doesn't hit as hard as I want" is perfect feedback. I can translate emotional intent into technical solutions.

Reference Other Moments

"Can the second verse vocal sound more like the first verse?" helps me understand your preferences.

Don't Hold Back

This is your music. If you're not thrilled, say so. I'd rather know now than have you quietly disappointed later.

What Happens Next

I Implement Revisions

Based on your feedback, I make adjustments. I don't just check boxes - I'm solving for the feeling you're describing.

Revision Delivery

You'll receive the revised mix along with notes on what I changed and why.

Unlimited Revisions

Master Suite/Whole House: We continue this process until you're genuinely excited to share your music with the world.

The Disconnect Call

If we're not landing it after revision 2, we'll hop on a quick call to diagnose what's not connecting. Often it's a simple communication gap we can solve in 10 minutes.
